Autumn Owls 2012 Anniversary Card

My youngest daughter and I wanted to make a special card for my aunt and uncle's wedding anniversary.  Autumn is the favorite season of both my aunt and me, so it seemed natural to select fall colors for this card.  We had fun trying to decide which cardstock "outfits" to put on each owl and how to embellish them.

Card Ingredients
Papers: Ivory CS (Staples, 110-lb.), Old Olive CS, Always Artichoke CS, Autumn Spice CS-DSP, Early Espresso CS, Crazed Cajun CS.
Inks:  Early Espresso.
Stamp(s):   Baroque Motifs (Cherish).
Punch(es):   Two-step Bird, Two-step Owl, 1/16" Hole, Scalloped Oval, Medium Oval.
Other:  Corrugator.
Embellishment(s):   Adhesive Pearls, Wiggle Eyes (Michael's)

June 2012 Belated Birthday Card: Elegant Lines and Butterfly

My aunt's birthday is in February. I made her a card and over "smooched" it. There was so much moisture from spray that the card warped and dried that way. Every effort I made to flatten the original card caused its components to separate/break apart. Finally I gave in to my personal desire to send her a handmade card, even if it is four-and-a-half months late (though I made sure she received a timely phone call to wish her a happy birthday). :) The old card will be sent inside of the new one, because I made it with her in mind.

The new card doesn't have all of the glitz and glitter; but, it does have butterflies...both stamped and embosslit-ed (if that is a word).  I associate butterflies with her because of our mutual love of flowers and being out in our gardens.  I enjoyed making this card so much that I'm making a few extra for Operation Write Home as well.

Card Ingredients
Papers: Ivory CS (Staples, 110-lb.), Gold CS (Recollections), Soft Suede CS, Baja Blue CS, Elegant Lines DSP.
Inks:  Soft Suede, Baja Blue, Crumb Cake
Stamp(s):  French Foliage, Elementary Elegance, French Script.
Cuttlebug/Big Shot:  Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Elegant Lines Emboss Folder.
Punch(es):  Eyelet Border.
Embellishment(s):  Gold Cord (Brand Unknown).

Lego Mini Card for June 2012 Birthday

My youngest son was invited to the birthday party of one of his best buddies.  Both boys love Legos, so I had to add a little Lego-finesse to the birthday gift.  While this looks like a tag, it is actually a miniature card.  The cardstock was folded over and inserted in the punch all the way up to just barely below the top of the cutting area; and, VOILA--a mini-card....just perfect for adding cardstock Legos.

Card Ingredients
Papers: White CS (110#, Staples Brand), Black CS (Recollections), Real Red Textured CS, Daffodil Delight (Yellow) Textured CS.
Inks:  Real Red, Summer Sun (Note:  too dark for the Lego spots).
Punches:  1/4" Circle, Large Tag, 1/16" Circle.

Cookie Monster Madness: Ending the School Year

It has been quite a while since I've had any crafting mojo; but thankfully I managed to get some of it back.  I was playing around on Pinterest, a place that is full of what I refer to as "eye candy."  Someone had shared a Cookie Monster topper, so I had to save the concept and plot my course.

My youngest daughter, youngest son and I made Cookie Monster snack pack toppers, miniature cookie package toppers, water bottle labels, and Craisin box embellishments.  It was, truly, "Cookie Monster Madness" around here as we prepared items for end-of-school year celebrations.  Below, please find a picture of what we created as well as a list of resources.  Cookie Monster and his adorable likenesses are most likely the sole property of Sesame Street; there was no attempt to infringe on any intellectual property(ies)...soley the goal to cherish this cute little guy because he automatically puts a smile on everyone's face (regardless of age).

Cookie Monster Madness Ingredients
Paper(s:  Pacific Point CS, White CS (Staples, 110-lb.), Black CS (Recollections).
Punch(es):  Small Medallion, 2-3/8" Large Medallion, 1" Circle (Marvy Uchida), 1/2" Circle, 1/4" Circle.
Ribbon(s):  Black Organza (for bow), Black Grosgrain (w/white stitching for around cap).
Embellisment(s):  1/2" Blue Pompoms (Creatology).
Cricut Cartridge(s):  Sweet Treats (used for a some circles and some medallions).
Cuttlebug/Big Shot:  Dots Emboss Folder.

Craftin' Granny's Card Shack: 3rd Bloggerversary Blog Candy

In the words of Craftin' Granny, "WOO-HOO!"  In honor of her third bloggerversary and 259 followers at the time of her post, she's offering blog candy.  It's my favorite type of candy:  all of the sweetness without the consequences.  LOL!

Craftin' Granny (and I) are hoping you will share in her excitement by leaving her a comment on the 3rd Bloggerversary post, found via this link:  http://craftingranny.blogspot.com/p/3rd-anniversary-blog-candy.html

Over the last couple of years words cannot express how much happiness her blog has given me as well as the kindness that Carol has extended to me and many others.  I hope that you will take the time to visit her blog and find so much delight in her cards as I have; and, hopefully you'll take a moment to leave some comments for her as well.  I know that they mean a great deal to her and she deserves every single one of them.  You'll see what I mean when you get there.  After you review the 3rd Bloggerversary content, click at the top of her blog to go to her main page and scroll down to lots of what I call "eye candy."  So, either way, you're getting candy.  :)

Mojo Monday #225: Valentine-themed Thank You Card

Well, its been quite a will since I've done any card making.  For some reason this week's Mojo Monday #225 got me back in to the craft of things.  This is my first time using the Hampton Arts stamp called "Paris Moments," a stamp that I wanted for several years before I finally got it.  In hindsight, it seems so silly to have put it off for so long, but it has proven itself worth the wait with its inchies that I incorporated into this card.  This piece is for my aunt and uncle, thanking them for their love and holiday gifts.  The Eiffel Tower has significance because a few months ago we spent some vacation time with them at The Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.  I cannot wait for them to get this card; it is the best one I've made in a long time...and perhaps the funnest one as well.

Card Ingredients
Papers:  White CS (Staples, 110-lb.), Real Red CS, Pink Pirouette CS, Rich Razzleberry CS.
Inks:  Pink Pirouette, Staz-on Jet Black, Rich Razzleberry, Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Smooch Spritz in Vanilla Shimmer.
Stamp(s):  Artistic Etchings, French Foliage, Vintage Vogue, Carte Postale, Tiny Tags, Paris Moments (by Hampton Art Stamps).
Punches:  Two-step Bird, Two-step Owl, Jewelry Tag, Bojo Blossoms.
Embellisments:  Pink Firestone Circle Rhinestone Brads, Pale Pink Satin Ribbon (Offray).
